Perspectives: Aspects of the Kirklees Collection

Perspectives: Aspects of the Kirklees Collection

Permanent Exhibition

This stunning new exhibition showcases major works in the Kirklees Collection. Many paintings are recognised and loved by generations of visitors to the gallery. The display tells the stories of some of these most important and admired works.

Every visitor will find a painting they love, whether it’s L S Lowry’s painting of Chapel Hill that captures the life, landscape, industry and energy of 1960s Huddersfield; or the powerful Henry Moore sculpture Falling Warrior, depicting the twisted form of a soldier. The show includes a monumental John Martin painting Joshua commanding the sun to stand still upon Gibeon; a vibrant abstract work by Alan Davie and a beautiful Lucien Pissarro landscape, among many other gems.

This is the opportunity to see the very best art from Kirklees Collection, to feel inspired by it and enthused to explore more art and culture or learn new creative skills.
