Dramatically Different present 'Tails of the Dart'

Dramatically Different present 'Tails of the Dart'

Dramatically Different youth drama group, based at Brixham Theatre on Tuesday evenings, has created a wonderful twist on the old tale of ‘Wind in the Willows’, with their self-written work, ‘Tails of the Dart’.

As the animals of the River Dart wake from the long winter months, change is upon them, and a battle of survival must be won. The animals won't go down without a fight, but who will be lost upon the way....

‘River of Dart, Oh River of Dart,

Every year thou claimest a heart.’

This is a heartening tale of unexpected friendships, loss and hope, in the face of adversity. As the animals face up to the greedy developers, this work reflects the battle of modern times along the Dart, with development ranged against habitat and environment.

The young people of this exciting youth drama group have certainly taken the issues of today to heir hearts. Maybe the world will be a better place in the future after all...

The original script is written by Dramatically Different director, Rachel Swain, and there is a unique musical score composed by the young people themselves. The play is suitable for all ages.

Brixham Theatre Director, Cecilia Kean, says ‘ We are utterly delighted with this beautiful tale that the Youth Theatre have created. We believe firmly that the future of the Theatre lies in the hands of the young people of Brixham and this imaginative and expressive work demonstrates those hands that care about the world around them.’
