Making Sense of It

An exhibition of textile art created by the ladies of the Contemporary Stitch Group. The theme is based on the senses and will include a variety of work incorporating hand and machine stitch techniques. Whilst designing to a common theme, each piece is individual with the skills of patchwork, felting, appliqué, layered fabrics and mixed media being used.

The exhibition also incorporates a selection of 'fidget quilts'. These are small multi textured quilts that include familiar and everyday objects which have proven helpful and soothing to people diagnosed with dementia. The quilts will be on sale via a sealed bid process with proceeds being donated to a charity supported dementia.

The exhibition is free the gallery will be open 10 - 5 Monday to Friday and 10 -4 on Saturday.
