Resident Stage/Technical Manager, Matpro Limited - Babbacombe Th

The Babbacombe Theatre requires a Stage Manager who will also be responsible for managing all technical aspects of the venue.

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the theatre environment and be familiar in sound and/or light and rigging. Additional areas you will have knowledge of would be Electronics, IT, Risk Assessments (incl. COSHH), Fire Risk Assessments, First Aid and Health & Safety. Relevant qualification in some or all of the aforementioned would be preferred, but not necessary as training will be given. You must also hold a full driving license.

As you will be managing a small team of staff, you will have to be able to demonstrate you are capable to do so. You should be a good planner and organiser, with a knack for multi-tasking, prioritising and keeping calm under pressure and in a crisis. You will be responsible for the management of each evening's performance and be able to ensure that the production runs as directed and designed. Touring shows as well as the venues own productions fall into this category.

This is a full time position with a contractual agreement of 40 hours per week. However split shifts and weekend work is required and in the high season you may exceed the 40 hours and we will ensure any hours over the contractual agreement will be taken off in lieu.

Pay will depend on experience, but be between £19.968 - £20.800

This position would suit somebody based within a 30 mile radius of the venue.
