Craft and Conflict

Craft and Conflict brings together both contemporary and historical items that commemorate and explore the themes of war and remembrance. Included in the exhibition are examples of how local companies and their workforces assisted with the war effort during the First World War, by fabricating items such as grenades, helmets and even service vehicles.
Exhibitors include Elizabeth Turrell, textiles by Michael Brennand Wood, Al Johnson,Sonja Andrew and Nicola Bartholomew, quilts by Annabel Rainbow and Janet Bevan, metalwork by Jacky Oliver, ceramics by Catherine Russell and Matthew David Marsh, jewellery by Annelies Hofmeyer, Iona Mc Cuaig, Lin Cheung, and Shelanu, and mixed media by Elizabeth Brickell, Betty Pepper, Naomi Symmonds, Ruth Singer and Bethany Walker, paper reliefs by Helen Snell.
