maRto / Opportunities / Mon 31st Dec 2012 Assistant Seeking Photographer / Studio Position
Photographing since 2006 I achieved my Advanced Photography and Photo Imaging Level 3 Apprenticeship whilst Technician at Plymouth College of Art in 2011. With experience in using a multitude of high-end camera, lighting and print systems, I have extensive knowledge of colour theory and calibration output, as well as copyright, licensing and contractual rights.
With ambition of working towards an editorial photographic assistant role, I not only want to push my career and photographic skills to their limits, I also wish to be responsible for any admin, communication and bookings, equipment transportation, cataloguing, set-building and editing processes - any necessary responsibilities required when running the studio.
As Technician my role required me to have a strong interest in photography and arts,
be technically-minded, whilst keeping a professional, attentive and adaptive responsibility to a vast range of staff and student needs on a daily basis, either across-counter or via telephone and email.
Not shy from a heavy, physical hands-on approach towards work and progressive learning, I also have a strong attention to detail and am a self-confessed perfectionist. With reliable assisting experience for Trevor Borrows (www.trevorburrowsphoto.com) and Realm Pictures (www.realm-pictures.com), I am very proficient in both Windows and Apple operating systems, including Adobe’s Photoshop and Lightroom packages and am always willing to learn new techniques.
With a consistent and strong enjoyment for customer service, I know I can maintain a confident but approachable attitude with colleagues and clients and I genuinely gain a real enjoyment when
greeting, assisting and working with people.
Under no illusion of how difficult entering an assisting opportunity can be, you can expect me to be 100% competent with commitment to long hours and physical hard work. My CV (pdf) can be viewed here: http://db.tt/3bMLwoV
