Sunday July 10th, Below Decks, Torquay 12.30pm -6pm

Below Decks Bar is pleased to announce the launch of their summer season of musical events in Torquay. This delightful setting on the harbour is the perfect location for a chilled weekend afternoon spent listening to a range of top quality and diverse music.

Sunday 10th sees a special extended session with music from 12.30pm to 6.00pm and features three quality local acts and it's all free admission. Topping the bill is the Sam Scott Jazz Trio. This newly formed outfit features well-known local jazz players Nigel Pike (double bass) and Will Gornall (piano) backing singer Sam Scott as she runs through a mellow set of jazz standards. Support throughout the afternoon is provided by Detroit-born, Devpn-based singer-songwriter Nicole Wakeling, fresh from the festival circuit, and Bluegrass-country outfit Boxwood Leafcutters. The stage times are Nicole Wakeling 12.30pm, Sam Scott 2.30pm, Boxwood Leafcutters 4.30pm.

Below Decks has a relaxed and informal atmosphere with a comforting mix of dining tables, luxurios sofas and armchairs. The concertina doors open the full width of the café, creating a fabulous open aspect out to the beautiful Beacon Quay. Outside there is a range of comfortable chairs and coffee tables provide a great meeting place for coffee or drinks with friends. Just yards from the café entrance is the magnificent quayside patio with tables right up to the water’s edge.
