Since completing my MA in fine art, I am introducing a new direction in my work an observational study on an understanding of form, light, space, these are elements that influence my new time scapes [landscapes] .
And a new body of work experimenting with visualising data, information within surf culture. By focusing on the connections that make information playful, facts and ideas that interconnected visually. This work is a series of experiments exploring time, distortion, change and direction, finding a way of logging their actions.

Where are you based:
In Godney overlooking the Somerset Levels, off the A39 between Wells and Glastonbury Grid Ref: ST4742.

About yourself as an artist:
My practice envelops multiple fields of visual expression. The main themes that I focus on deal with ideas surrounding perception and distortion of vision regarding constants, such as space and time. I use materials to question our understanding of what we are looking at.

Where do you get your inspiration:
Somerset Levels it reminds me of my childhood, I was brought up in Kenya on the plains the large flat lands and long sky's. The water and the wet lands on the levels are controlled by a series of small narrow canals called rhinos or reens, these are often used as field boundary making a grid on the landscape with this amount of water on the levels we get low lying mists though out the year, combined with the first light of the day. I find these are some of my inspirations. I'm interested in our understanding of what we are looking at and question both the thing itself and the image of the thing. Vision can be the result of some form of unconscious reference, a matter of making assumptions and drawing conclusions from incomplete data based on previous experiences. These works are an ongoing enquiry into the relationship of what I see, a mere reflection of light on a surface.

Do you use any unusual locations in Somerset for your art:
It's not so much the location it's more the time and capturing the correct atmosphere, all ways early mornings, the time in-between night and day we call it nautical dawn when the sun is 12 degrees below the horizon.
