Smooth Space is a visual arts organisation for Torbay and the wider world run by David Harbott and Kate Paxman. We make work for new audiences in innovative locations. We have just completed our first project, called 'over the horizon' at Berry Head National Nature Reserve, Brixham.
'over the horizon' produced 3 new commissions:
David Harbott, Anna Keleher and Kate Paxman collected sounds and stories, documented the exquisite and rare limestone grassland and filmed newly formed and evolving habitats.
David's work, 'Life at x5' and 'Life at x10' can be seen in the Berry Head car park.
'The Ballad of Berry Head', Anna Keleher's audio and screen-based work and 'The Inner Quarry', a 3-screen immersive installation by Kate Paxman are showing in the Guardhouse Visitor Centre which is open on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter.

This project is run in partnership with the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust and the English Riviera Global Geopark and is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
