Sophie AthertonI am a qualified journalist with ten years experience drawn from various areas of the media. I have been a local newspaper reporter, a broadcast journalist and a press officer and most of my jobs have also involved training others in media skills.
My current clients include The Guardian, guardian.co.uk and the Campaign for Real Ale's magazine BEER. I also write a monthly column for Somerset Life magazine. Before I returned to freelancing I ran the RSPB's South West Regional Press Office in Exeter for nearly five years achieving regular broadcast and print media coverage for the wildlife charity across the region.
As well as my journalistic work I also take on writing and/or editing jobs (everything from leaflets and newsletters, through to press releases, media campaign materials, content for websites, blogs and in-house magazines), PR consultancy work and can offer bespoke media training tailored to your needs.
