Studio Café Afternoons

Make marks using the biggest or the smallest paintbrush money can buy; paint a memory; mix the perfect shade of blue; start a painting and let your friend finish it; forget about being good at this; enjoy the process; show us how you did it; tell us what inspires you; paint with your eyes closed; turn it into something else; peep through the painting; make an artwork for all to enjoy; take home a piece of art in a box.

This summer holiday you’re invited to spend time at Spacex in the pop-up Studio Café. Creative challenges will be provided for you to take part in, hot and cold drinks, ice lollies, and snacks will be available to purchase.

Café staff will be on hand to welcome participants and show them the activities and materials on offer. The main activity will be painting, but not onto paper; instead there will be a range of transparent materials such as plastic and tracing paper. The paintings can be then be transformed into window pictures or small light boxes to take home.
