After Dark: Catalyst Club: The Road to Utopia

After Dark: Catalyst Club: The Road to Utopia

8:30pm
£10.00

Dartington Hall lights up its hidden, dormant and unseen spaces with a series of intimate gigs and events in secret locations. Radio 4’s David Bramwell hosts the first of Dartington’s brand new monthly Catalyst Clubs. Paying tribute to the traditions to French Salon and debating societies, this is a visionary evening of entertaining and thought-provoking talks, debates and unabashed optimism. Speakers give a 15 minute presentation on something they’re ridiculously excited by, from how to save the planet to bum reading, with everything in between. Line-up includes: 'A Pollution-free Future' by Red Dwarf Actor and Author, Robert Llewellyn; 'A Crime-free Future' By Q1 Elf, Steve Colgan; 'How to Grow a Steak' by pioneering meat-grower, Aspen Glen-Cross; and 'How to Transform our Cities' by Radio 4 presenter, David Bramwell.

Event locations will not be identified prior to the evening and the discovery of the location will be part of the event (apart from After Dark Presents at Community Day). Audiences should be on the Dartington estate (White Hart) at 8.00pm. They will receive a text message that will lead then on a journey to the gig’s secret location. Don’t worry about phone signal. In each location there is a mix of seated and standing space, and a bar.

Access: the gig and event journeys are both inside and out, come rain or shine, no umbrellas. Please arrive prepared to walk to the secret location. If you need to discuss your access requirements further, telephone the box office.
