Some of the most exciting musicians working in folk music and folk poetry present this concert of specially-created work for singers and instrumentalists.

Kathryn Tickell is the foremost exponent of the Northumbrian pipes, a composer, performer and successful recording artist whose work is deeply rooted in the landscape and people of Northumbria. Amy Thatcher is one of the UK’s leading folk accordionists; her work has taken her across the world, from the Royal Albert Hall to the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia. She has also contributed to Sting’s latest musical Broadway show The Last Ship and his Winter Song Book DVD. Sally Davies has a professional background as a theatre actor, acrobat and composer. and her music has been performed in London and at festivals in Dublin, Tbilisi, Edinburgh, Oslo and Berlin. As a choir leader she excels in folk music of the British Isles, Georgia and Eastern Europe. Sally also directs the Cecil Sharp Community Choir.
