Bach’s French Suites are fine-boned, elegant, witty and reflective, displaying Bach’s innate sense of argument and courtly style. The first three are in minor keys, and the second three (which can be heard on 13th August) are in major, sunny keys. All six are brilliantly and beautifully written, and this is a rare chance to delve into Bach’s private world and eavesdrop on the complete set.

Joanna MacGregor. Artistic Director of Dartington Summer School, is particularly know for her fine Bach interpretations, as well as her far-reaching and creative collaborations.
