An ebullient and creative programme of the ‘Northern Soul’ of 17th century Europe- Sweelinck, Buxtehude, Dietrich Becker and Matthias Weckmann– directed by Gawain Glenton, one of the most exciting and dynamic early musicians around, and the brilliant early trombonist Emily White. Their programme mixes short fanfares for cornett and sackbut, keyboard and string solo works, John Dowland ensembles, topped off with a brand new piece by the multifaceted composer Andrew Keeling.
