I like to work outside in the landscape and collect images in sketchbooks and colour studies to help me work on ideas in the studio. Return trips are often required to complete works. Water, landscape, buildings and the human impact on these are themes I often return to in my work. Following a visit to Ostuni in southern Italy I have been working on a series of paintings looking at the town and its people. The river Teign plays an important part in some of my recent paintings.
