Andrew Warburton established Area Rugs and Carpets Ltd. in 2002 and has made the company into one of the leading hand tufting companies in the UK. The company has achieved a growing reputation amongst interior designers and architects for high quality design and manufacture of luxury, custom-made hand tufted rugs, carpets and wall hangings.

Andrew has been designing and making unique and exclusive hand-tufted rugs and carpets since 1988 after graduating with a First Class honours degree in Carpet Design from Kidderminster College. The studio is based in a converted mill in Mirfield, located in the traditional “Heavy Woollen” district of West Yorkshire.

Area Rugs offers a full custom design service, manufacturing bespoke pieces in any colour, size, shape and design, to perfectly compliment a commercial or private interior project. Innovative modern or traditional designs can be created to a client’s own brief and specification to produce rugs and carpets of exceptional quality.

Area Rugs commissions include five star hotels, head offices, reception areas, boardrooms and corporate break out areas as well as yachts, private aeroplanes, retail outlets, theatres and numerous private clients.
