Let yourself be swept along on a ‘rainbow ride’ this autumn and experience colour from an artist’s perspective!
Mary Ann Day is sharing with us an exhibition of vibrant and reflective paintings from across the globe - mirroring the joy of colour.
The exhibition which forms part of this year’s Herts Open Studios programme, represents a rainbow ride to locations all over the world - from sand and sea to forest and mountain and gives a glimpse of the people who she met on the way.
A self-taught artist, Mary Ann has experimented with different styles and textures, frequently using a palette knife in her work. In 2016 she was shortlisted to take part in the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year and has featured in several exhibitions in Hertfordshire and around London.
“Colour is the key to my work,” she explains. “Without colour life would be a very dull place. I feel my job is to project that colour on to walls in generous, daring quantities, providing an uplifting and happy interlude for the viewer.
