Access Arts

Arts Anonymous have teamed up with a network of artists from across the UK and Europe to form a new association called ACCESS ARTS. The aim of Access Arts is to provide opportunities for people to engage with art on a practical level, by staging events in the community which are free at the point of delivery wherever possible.
The first event will be on 28th, 29th and 30th May, on The Fish Quay, Gales Hill, Teignmouth. Leading urban artists will participate in a demonstration paint jam and share their skills with young people aged 10- 19, using spraypaint techniques to produce large pieces as a group. Police Community Support Officers will also be participating.
The workshops are free to young people in the 10-19 age group. Access Arts will provide materials, masks and gloves. Young people are advised to wear old clothes and footwear, and anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Demonstrations and workshops will be from 12.00pm until 4.00pm each day.
Access Arts are very keen to show that urban art can enhance certain environments and that if communities work together, it can be an enjoyable experience for everyone.
The event is supported by Teignbridge District Council, Devon County Council and Teignmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team.
