I woke and the town spoke

A word from Robert Garnham:
“wow, that was an amazing night at Stanza Extravaganza! We had: comedy monologue from Steve O and a guess the missing word poem. Excellent set from Melanie Crump. Comedy poetry sketch from Joanna Hatfull and Joe, more tales of Paignton from Shelley Szender, Jason Disley performing backed up by jazz music,Becky Nuttall as brilliant as ever, Simon Williams and Susan Taylor performing a joint piece from their excellent pamphlet, excellent set from Andi Langford-Woods, eyebrow twirling and fake eyebrows for Jason from Brenda Hutchings, a rendition of Petula Clark sung by Brenda and Shelley about Paignton, and the most amazingly sublime headline set from Hazel Hammond. Wow, that was sheer brilliance!”
This fantastic, entertaining, thought provoking evening of spoken word takes place every month in Torquay and it gets better and better
Robert will also be taking over Poetry Island from Ian Beech in January. Re named Big! Poetry, look out for some great headliners there too. If you love language and poetry we can’t wait to meet you! Becky x
