Bernadine Makins

I like to class myself as an all-round crafter, from jewellery making to macramé and macraweave work. Along with painting, embroidery and papercrafting.
I am a trained jewellery maker and wire worker specialising in gorgeous, affordable jewellery using semi-precious stones. My favourite skill is wire work, creating trees of life, bangles and adjustable rings. Yes, rings that can be adjusted to fit on any finger size! The stones I use tend to be upcycled from a previous piece of jewellery making my jewellery eco-friendly.
I am also a trained macramé and macraweave worker using recycled materials to create one off designs. My macraweaves (macramé with textiles woven in) are inspired by photos I have taken of the countryside and usually include my signature sheep!
I don't work from patterns I just create! When away from my craft room if ideas buzz around I have to do a quick sketch.
No two pieces are ever exactly the same, making each one special and unique. My collection offers something for everyone, with designs ranging from traditional to modern, delicate to bold.
I am an arts and crafts teacher with Community Action Dacorum and run my own workshops along with volunteering for DENS.
