Wordthing was founded in 2015 with the aim of bringing critically acclaimed modern writers and poets to Worthing, exploring new and innovative work and inspiring readers and writers of all ages.

Hearing writers perform their work live and in person is a unique and evocative experience for an audience. From well-known authors presenting new work to rising stars of contemporary literature, the Festival is a fantastic opportunity to explore fiction and poetry in our seaside location.

Alongside our annual festival programme, we run workshops to encourage writers to expand on and experiment with their work. We also work in partnership with local schools to deliver a range of imaginative and participatory literary activities for young people.
