Workshop Details
In this workshop Jeremy will explore wet-in-wet, wet on dry, and damp on dry watercolour techniques. This is a valuable step by step watercolour workshop for people of any ability. Colour-mixing, and colour and tonal contrasts throughout the painting is given by this demonstration, as well as overcoming common mistakes and problem-solving in watercolour. With over thirty years of teaching experience Jeremy is well qualified to help you to learn and enjoy painting in a friendly, informal atmosphere. You'll come away with a new skill, new knowledge and a sense of pride with a wonderful piece of work.

About the Artist
Jeremy Ford studied Graphic Design at Southport College of Art, (1972-5) and Illustration at Harrow College of Art, London (1975-8) and has been a professional Artist and Illustrator since then, working on a wide variety of books, magazines, and greeting cards.

Materials to Bring
Watercolour paints: Ultramarine, Permanent Rose, Cadmium Yellow and Burnt Sienna
A selection of watercolour brushes, such as a No. 10 or 12, 6 7 or 8, 4 or 5, 0 1 2 or 3
Watercolour paper, at least 140lb weight. Jeremy will be using Bockingford 200lb weight watercolour paper
Watercolour palette
HB, B or 2B pencil

Materials Provided
Calder Art will provide the following materials for the workshop:
1 x Table Top Easel
1 x 13 x 17 12mm Warp resistant MDF Board
1 x Paint Pot
1 x Palette or Plate
Masking Tape and other sundry products are also available.

Course Details
Minimum numbers apply for courses to run. Payment is due in full at the time of booking, either through the shop, phone or online. All sales are final unless transferring to another class in which a difference in price will be paid. Full refunds will be given if the courses cannot take place. If you cannot make the classes for any reason no refunds will be given.

Refreshments are available all day (tea, coffee, biscuits etc.) and there will be a lunch break of approximately one hour. Unfortunately the Blue Rooms Cafe is in the process of opening under new management so in the meantime local shops and cafes in the area are available and within close walking distance to the arcade. Alternatively you may bring your own lunch.
The nearest car park available to the venue is the multi-storey next to Huddersfield bus station. All details are found on the link below. The cost of the car park is £2.00 for 3 hours (all levels) or £4.00 for 10 hours (upper two levels only)
Our venue is also a 2 minute walk from both the main bus and train stations.
