I grew up in Huddersfield, in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively with my camera, I settled back into my hometown and the Colne Valley, drawn by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. Revisiting my childhood haunts through the seasons, my passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and live here.

Mine is slow photography. Each of my fine art images is the result of many hours researching and roaming the ancient footpaths, bridleways and turnpike roads with Megs, our Border Collie, in all weathers, waiting patiently until sun, clouds and rain allow me to catch the right moment. All of my images are caught using long exposures to capture the detail and atmosphere which is then presented as it was captured through the lens at that moment, a celebration of the subject’s natural and intrinsic beauty.
