Free Exhibitions at Cleeve Abbey

There is a wealth of talent in the South West; Cleeve Abbey offers a unique backdrop to showcase this talent.
One or two day Exhibitions can be staged at the Abbey at no cost on weekends, and any day in the last week of July and throughout August. Cleeve Abbey is an English Heritage property open to the public, and has probably the best preserved medieval cloister buildings in England. The exhibition space offered includes inside and outside areas. A maximum of 6 exhibitors can display on any one day.

Community Exhibition at Cleeve Abbey

Terms and Conditions.

1. There is no charge for exhibiting.

2. Exhibition of 1 or 2 day duration; exhibit from 10.30am – 4.30pm, 10.30am – 5.30pm in July and August. 30 mins set up/take down period before and after exhibit times. All exhibits and display equipment to be removed from Abbey at the end of the exhibition.

3. Inside and outside exhibiting space available; space to be used to be agreed between exhibitor and Abbey staff. All internal and external exits, passageways, fire exits, signs and fire appliances must be kept clear at all times.

4. As the Abbey is a Scheduled Monument nothing can be fixed to the structure of the building, and any display equipment must be free-standing and supplied by the exhibitor. (One area that can be used to exhibit contains tables, which may be used within this area.)

5. The Exhibition must be manned by the exhibitor or their representative. English Heritage accepts no responsibility for any items brought to the site for the purpose of the Exhibition. The exhibitor is responsible for any insurance deemed necessary for the Exhibition.

6. Visitors to the Exhibition will pay normal admission prices to the Abbey; this condition must be included in any publicity material.

7. All publicity for the Exhibition is to be the responsibility of the exhibitor (on request the Abbey will display any publicity materials supplied by the exhibitor).

8. Maximum of 6 exhibitors to exhibit on any one day. The Abbey also reserves the right to restrict number of items exhibited if deemed necessary

9. Requests for booking must be received at least 2 weeks before the date requested, and accompanied by an image of a representative item of what is to be exhibited, and Abbey staff reserve the right to effect the removal of exhibits deemed inappropriate to the setting. Booking is subject to accepting and signing terms and conditions, and exhibitor must self-complete a Risk Assessment (we can supply RA template on request) to be given to Abbey staff on the day of the exhibition.

10. Liability and Indemnity:
The exhibitor will be responsible for and compensate English Heritage in respect of all claims, damages, liabilities, actions, costs, fees and expenses suffered or incurred by English Heritage as a result of the Exhibition or arising out of the use of the site for the Exhibition.
Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by English Heritage’s negligence, English Heritage excludes liability to the fullest extent permitted by law for loss or damage suffered by the exhibitor or any person attending the Exhibition, or any other person involved directly or indirectly with the Exhibition which arises out of or in connection with the use of the site for the Exhibition.
