ColeridgeCottage National Trust

Home of Romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Coleridge Cottage is a small and friendly National Trust property in Nether Stowey near Bridgwater.
Coleridge lived here from 1797 to 1799, and wrote his most famous works, such as 'Kubla Khan' and 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'.

After refurbishment in 2011, original features were uncovered including the fireplace in front of which Coleridge wrote 'Frost at Midnight', the 16th century well, and the wildflower garden. The cottage now provides an interactive and engaging experience for visitors of all ages, where you can learn more about Coleridge and Romanticism, try on Georgian costumes, listen to poetry and try writing with a quill.

The cottage is open Thursdays to Mondays, 11am - 5pm, from the first Saturday in March to the last Sunday in October. It is also open on the first three weekends in December for a 'Georgian Christmas' experience.
