Open Call for Creative Family Learning practitioner to design and develop an activity pack for Clifton Park Museum in Rotherham

Cost - £3000
Deadline - 18th November 2021

Rotherham Museums, Arts & Heritage Service would like to engage an experienced family learning practitioner to deliver a self-led take away family resource for 4–11-year-olds , as part of the Our World project – funded by an Esmee Fairbairn Museums Collections Fund and in partnership Rotherham Ethic Minority Alliance.

Rotherham Museums, Arts and Heritage Service was awarded an Esmée Fairbairn Collection Fund grant in 2019 for a community heritage project to work with diverse communities across Rotherham. This project “Our World: discover objects, explore stories and make connections” focusses on using the Museum’s world cultures collection to diversify audiences, improve understanding of the different communities across Rotherham and develop a greater sense of belonging and connection to their local heritage.

As part of the fund they want to create a resource for Rotherham children from 4-11years around the theme of the home and kitchen. This self-led/take away resource will be made accessible in the Walker Kitchen engagement space and will need to reflect the stories and experiences within the kitchen for different communities across Rotherham. It will be rooted in the everyday themes of both the home and kitchen, with activities having clear connections to the World Culture’s collection objects and also include items from the museum’s social history collection.
