Coronavirus: Help for businesses and self-employed

If you're a business or self-employed and haven't yet looked at what support is available to you or don't know where to look, this Kirklees Council webpage has information and advice that can help to get you started.

The page has information on financial and other measures announced by the Government to help manage the impacts of COVID-19 - including wage subsidies, business rates reliefs, statutory sick pay reliefs, small business grants and loans.

If you're a Kirklees business, funding is now available to support local businesses to help deal with the impact of the COVID-19 virus.

What grants are available?
Grants of either £10,000 or £25,000 are now available for eligible businesses in Kirklees as part of a package of financial support announced by the Government to help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 virus.

Is my business eligible?
All businesses in Kirklees with a rateable value of less than £15,000 and who are already in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief, Rural Rate Relief or tapered relief will be eligible for a £10,000 Small Business Grant. Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, with a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000, will be eligible for a £25,000 grant under the Governments Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme.

How can I apply?
Eligible businesses will receive a letter from Kirklees Council with further details and are asked to complete an online form on the Council website to ensure you receive payment swiftly and securely in early April.

To complete the online form for your business or to see details of all the support available for businesses in Kirklees visit the website.
