Gordon Stewart makes a welcome return as Organist Emeritus

Gordon Stewart, who retired last year after over 30 years as the much loved Borough Organist of Kirklees, makes a welcome return to Huddersfield Town Hall in his new role as Organist Emeritus, taking the helm of the Father Willis Organ once again.

This is a very special concert, as when Gordon retired during lockdown, his last few concerts were pre-recorded and made available online, and he was unable to do a “live” farewell concert…. so here it is combined with a celebratory welcome to him as our new Organist Emeritus! Gordon will be accompanied by special guest Tom Osborne, Assistant Princpal Trumpet with the Hallé. The programme is full of timeless classics including Wagner’s ‘Ride of the Valkyries’ – do come along and enjoy this musical lunchtime concert on Valentines Day, Monday 14 February at 1pm.
