The South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival 2019

The South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival 2019

Do you have any existing outdoor type events taking place in the South Pennines from the 7 – 22 September that you would like to include in the South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival? Would you be interested in hosting a new outdoor event (this could be forest activities, photography walks, themed walks, walks that culminate in a music at a pub or museum etc) as part of the Festival?

Pennine Prospects host an annual walk and ride festival throughout the South Pennines, a landscape that offers great opportunities for people to engage with the landscape such as walking, canal cruising, mountain biking and road cycling.
The idea behind the festival is to encourage local people to experience the outdoors that they have around them as well as bringing new visitors to the area, allowing everyone to come together and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

The festival is being organised by Pennine Prospects who are a unique rural regeneration company, created in 2005 as a champion for the South Pennines, the dramatic upland landscape that stands prominently above the urban centres of Greater Manchester, the Lancashire valleys and West Yorkshire. As well as this, Pennie Prospects are strongly committed to sustainable development to deliver a wide range of projects aimed at promoting, protecting and enhancing the built, natural and cultural heritage of the south Pennines.

This year’s festival is being held from 7-22 September 2019. If you would like to have your event in the printed pocket guide and on the website please see the links attached. It is to note that all events may not be included in the pocket guide however they will be able to be viewed on the websites. Closing dates for events are 14 May 2019. (Please note that the website is for last years event - http://www.walkandridefestival.co.uk/)
