Salary Range – £9,074 to £10,209 (£18,148 to £20,418 FTE) per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Plymouth College of Art to participate in the technical delivery of the BA Costume Production and Associated Crafts to work alongside a dedicated team.

The ideal candidate will have significant expertise and industry experience along with practical skills of Costume and Prop with an ability to demonstrate these techniques and support students to the highest of levels.

You’ll be flexible in applying Costume Prop skills to include sewing and pattern cutting when needed.

This role is pivotal in supporting students in gaining a breadth of knowledge and practical techniques and processes that are traditional and non-traditional for making Costume Props.

So it is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of appropriate materials and machinery used for making costumes, along with an understanding of appropriate techniques and processes for Costume Prop Making, coupled with knowledge of making theatrical Millinery.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the learning environment is adequately resourced whilst supporting learners in the use of relevant equipment and materials. A good working knowledge of current health and safety is essential, as is the ability to manage students to a high standard in this area.

You will provide group demonstrations of a range of related processes, and provide day-to-day support for students undertaking their project work. You will be required to develop and make teaching resources and learning aids. It is highly desirable that candidates possess a degree, or equivalent, and will need to demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
