An arts organisation in Somerset are looking for a highly experienced and organised person to join their enthusiastic and active team as an Events Coordinator to work within the gallery and for associated projects.

You will be responsible for initiating and organising a range of events at the gallery and beyond.

Main duties and responsibilities:

•To organise and lead development of a new arts festival

•To initiate and organise arts and cultural events for a range of audiences working alongside the Head of Education
•To develop relationships with stakeholders and liaise with advisors regarding themes, priorities and diaries.
•Organise staffing for events and manage teams effectively
•Implement ticketing systems
•Manage budgets, process invoices
•Develop relationships with sponsors
•Develop marketing and PR campaigns for events
•Ensure all events are well documented
•Ensure that all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and to a high standard
•Actively keep stakeholders informed and generate an annual review/report
•To ensure Health & Safety standards, public liability and policies are developed and adhered to
•Ensure legal obligations and the expectations set out in our policies are met, including health & safety, equality & diversity, finance, procurement, information security and managing people
•Representing the gallery and associated organisations at all times
•Working weekends and evenings as required

Required knowledge, skills and qualifications:
•Bachelors or advance degree preferred
•Considerable experience in event management
•Good team player with the ability to manage people and to work alone
•Commercially astute with the ability to market and sell a high end product
•Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders
•Self-motivated, with good initiative, negotiating skills and problem solving skills
•Creative thinker with the ability to enthuse colleagues and implement ideas
•Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
•Experience of managing H&S within an events environment
•Knowledge of Somerset and the surrounding area would be an advantage.
•Driving license is desirable
