Head of Philanthropy, National Trust

Head of Philanthropy, National Trust

The National Trust is at the forefront of conserving and sharing some of the nation’s most special places of outstanding beauty and historic interest, and is now looking for a talented fundraiser to help them grow their family of supporters and encourage transformational gifts.

With plans to nearly double philanthropic income from high net worth individuals and trusts to £10 million each year by 2020, and encourage greater supporter engagement, this is an exciting time to join the National Trust. Having recently completed a research review of major donors, the National Trust is using the findings to deliver a step-change in philanthropic fundraising and realise a 10-year strategic plan. In everything they do, they want to strengthen and deepen their connections and relationships with major supporters and in turn, increase their vital network of supporters.

With a passion for fundraising, you will have proven experience in leadership giving at the six-figure level, and building long-term relationships with a range of donors, as well as influencing senior stakeholders. A track record in setting and delivering against fundraising targets will be essential, together with the proven ability to manage income and expenditure budgets. To excel in this role, you will be confident to lead on strategy, develop the high-performing team and work with senior volunteers.

The Trust has a reputation for investing in its people and in return for your commitment and enthusiasm, the Trust will give you the experience and professional development you need to further your career. It appreciates that work/life balance is important and will consider flexibility in working arrangements.
