Salary: £19,100 per annum (pro rata'd), £9.90 per hour

Hours: 17 hours per week

Timetable:

Tuesday 8.10am- 12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.40pm

Friday 8.40am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-4.10pm

Saturday 8.30am-12.30pm

We are seeking a First Assistant to work in our library at HMP Exeter. The prison libraries are a challenging but highly rewarding environment. You will need to be a confident person with the ability to communicate well with a wide range of people. You will be customer focused and motivated to provide an excellent service to our prison customers.

You will be supporting the Prison Librarian to help prisoners to use the library effectively for educational, legal and recreational purposes. You will be friendly and approachable while maintaining the ability to be resilient and vigilant. You will be responsible for supervising a small team of prison orderlies.

A full prison service security check will be required.
