What memories will you make this year?

Back for their eighth year, on Saturday 28 September Batley Festival will return for another day filled with free, family-friendly arts performances, craft activities and community performances in the heart of the town centre.

Taking over the cobbles of Market Place and Memorial Gardens this year will be:

Mufti Games with sports day meets sheep trials, One Kid & their Dog.

Artizani’s Lobster a la Cart will be let loose on the streets of Batley for a show-stopping waltz in the town centre.

Pif Paf will take up residence with their anarchic and poetic Seed.

Plunge Boom will be inviting families to get dirt under their fingernails with The Allotment.

The Firm Band Baja will be recreating some of Bollywood and Bhangra’s biggest and best songs.

There will also be workshops and hands-on activities for the whole family to join in with:

Hardeep Sahota will be displaying his Bhangra skills, and will host a workshop for festival-goers to learn from his years of experience.

Mlody Mazur will be bringing their Polish dance to Batley and will be teaching the basic steps to anyone who wants to have a go.

The creative hub of Batley Festival will be the Magnificent Marquee, a space to shelter from the sun (or rain!).

Festival-goers can bring their picnic, grab a coffee or lunch from the many food trucks or just take the weight off their legs while some of Batley’s finest take the stage. There will be performances from Batley Community Choir, Sarah Taylor School of Dance and craft activities happening throughout the day.

The streets of the town centre will also be lined with an artisan market, hands-on craft activities and food trucks, transforming the cobbles of Batley into an artistic playground for the whole family.
