Creative Scene are looking for a freelance project manager for SceneMakers, a programme which aims to identify and build a company of creative leaders from across North Kirklees who will advocate and inform the Creative Scene programme over the next 3 years.

Creative Scene is the Arts Council England’ Creative People and Places Project for North Kirklees - West Yorkshire, supported by a consortium including The Lawrence Batley Theatre, Kirklees Council, and the Batley Festival. Creative Scene wants more people in the towns of Batley, Birkenshaw, Birstall, Cleakheaton, Dewsbury, Gomersal, Liversedge, and all the places in between to create, and be part of, inspiring high quality arts experiences.

Our vision

• Being the primary contact for all current SceneMakers, and tailoring support to individual needs when appropriate (including access needs.)
• Recruiting and inducting new SceneMakers through open application processes, targeted recruitment, and through other activities or opportunities happening in Creative Scene’s wider programme.
• Supporting the SceneMakers to inform the wider Creative Scene programme, including supporting and facilitating them to be part of interview panels, commissioning opportunities, advocacy and other decision making.
• Facilitating regular meetings (every other month) and representing SceneMakers in wider programming meetings with the Creative Scene team.

A detailed plan of tasks, outputs, intended outcomes and key dates for delivery will be worked up with the Creative Producer.
