A KICK UP THE ARTS; a place where inspirational leaders within the creative industry share the secrets of their success. The aim of the day is to inspire you on to greater achievements.

We are thrilled to have the following guest speakers for this event, who are some of the industry’s most influential figures:

Ali Pretty - Founding member and Artistic Director of the International outdoor arts company - Kinetica. Ali has collaborated with, and led teams of artists to deliver large-scale events to diverse audiences all over the world. Ali has also developed work as an artist in her own right, inspired by a passion for creative walking and writing. Together they inform her artistic direction in textile art and design which is renowned for its quality. Her designs since 2012 are held in the archives of the V&A.

Phil Gibby - Regional Director, Arts Council England South West since March 2010. He joined from the Welsh National Opera, where he held the post of Director of Development and Communications. Previously, Phil was South West Regional Director of Arts and Business and also headed up the Marketing and Development of the Bristol Old Vic.

Claire Hodgson - CEO of Diverse City, a theatre/dance Director and Academic. Claire is the founder of and CEO/Artistic Director of Diverse City, an organisation that specialises in creating exceptional performances profiling the abilities of diverse groups. Claire was a Clore Fellow in 2012 and writes for Guardian Culture Professionals.

The day will be facilitated by Chris Huxley from West Mead Creative, working together with Creative Somerset to develop leadership skills for the creative sector, as part of our ‘Leadership Link Up’ programme 2014/14.
