What is Dark Horse?
Dark Horse is a theatre company that trains actors with learning disabilities using the same methods as drama schools across the UK. Our courses are validated by ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts). Dark Horse produce shows on a local, regional and national scale, which are either ensemble productions (where all cast members have a learning disability) or integrated productions (with a mixture of learning disabled and non-learning disabled actors).

Aims of Act D!fferent

• To create a safe space to address and explore challenges around learning disabled actors making work in the ‘mainstream’.
• To enable collaborators from the theatre and the arts to have an insight into inclusive practice and how learning-disabled actors could be integrated into ‘mainstream’ productions.
