Exploring the Museum: Sea Venom - A Restoration Story

Exploring the Museum: Sea Venom - A Restoration Story

Webinar: 7pm - 8pm
The de Havilland Sea Venom was a seagoing version of the company’s successful Venom night fighter, adapted for carrier-borne use with folding wings, an arrestor hook and long-stroke undercarriage for heavy landings at sea. Sea Venoms served on the Royal Navy’s Aircraft Carriers throughout the 1950s and also flew with the French and Australian navies. The Museum’s Sea Venom arrived in 1978 and in 2006 it became the subject of a complete nuts-and-bolts restoration which is still in progress. This is what we’ll be looking at in this Webinar, in the company of two of the team who have done the work, with audience Q&As afterwards. This is a family-friendly webinar and we actively encourage younger audience participants.
To take part in the webinar please register using the tickets link: places cost £5. Limited places available, advance registration required.
