String Quartets in Totnes

Divertimento String Quartet is performing a wonderful Sunday afternoon concert in Totnes in October. All the works were written when the composers were young men of 28 years old, and together make a varied and easily approachable programme. Beginning with Beethoven (Opus 18 no 4) in dramatic minor mood, and followed by Villa Lobos's quartet in the form of a suite of song and dance movements, the afternoon's concert concludes with Ravel's String Quartet in F, one of the greatest works in the string quartet repertoire.
The concert has a 3pm start, designed to encourage concert-goers to enjoy a memorable concert before the evenings draw in! It is at St John's Church, Bridgetown on Sunday 15th October at 3pm.
