Auditions for Grit (the musical)

Auditions for Grit (the musical)

Auditions will be held on 11 July, 1-4 PM at the Princess Theatre. No preparation is necessary for the auditions. You should expect to read from a script, devise some original scene material in groups and to sing a short musical excerpt which will be taught on the day. Anyone aged 14-25 can attend these open auditions. If you would like to get involved with the production and you are outside this age range, please contact doorsteparts@gmail.com.

'Grit' is an original musical production, funded by Arts Council England. The show is inspired by Madeleine L’Engle’s book A Wrinkle in Time and 4 other source materials. The story follows a young woman as she tries to rescue a missing father, save her younger brother, and find her own destiny.

The performance company will be composed of young people aged 14-25. It will perform for public audiences and school groups of year 6 & 7 students.

The rehearsals will begin with a 3-day intensive in August 2015 and the production will tour from 4-7 November 2015.
