DSDF Funding for Hillyfield Wood

DSDF Funding for Hillyfield Wood

Great News.
The Land that I help look after has just been awarded funding by DSDF (*Dartmoor Sustainable Development Fund) to help put together a series of volunteer weekends at The Hillyfield - a gorgeous woodland on the southern edge of Dartmoor, close to South Brent.

These weekends are going to be lots of fun - as well as give the opportunity for some really hard work.

Over-time we hope to see this woodland develop into a really inspiring project with small scale sustainble enterprise including woodland management and products, camps and cooking, and growing vegetables, as well as developing forest garden and the like with fruit and nuts.

There is always loads to do, from picking sticks and whatever is in season, to clearing paths and streams, watching little fish in the river, making tea, and cutting and stacking wood. Never a dull moment!

Everyone is welcome regardless of ability to contribute.
