Ellis Sykes' work is a feast of vibrant colours and dramatic expressions within her featured collection: 'The Mind'.

The collection consists of layered wooden faces; theatrically poignant and expressive in nature. Each piece illustrating the often isolated, invisible experience of Mental ill-Health, and questioning the controversial stigma surrounding the conditions.

Colour psychology, light and shadow-play are all vital components of her work.

The 'Insomnia Series' Accompanies her main collection.
A series of 5 digital/textile composite illustrations.

The 5 illustrations portray the feelings and struggles of sleeplessness among sufferers, by the use of both visual and kinetic devices.
