The unstructured nature of felt with its endless potential gives me freedom of expression for my imagination. It also offers the opportunity to exploit the many techniques of working with textiles that I have gained over the years. The incorporation of contemporary materials & methods introduces a contemporary approach to the ancient & traditional technique of hand felt making. For me contemporary felt carries a bond from the past but with a focus on the future.

I am offering informal open days, which consist of accompanied viewings of my Gallery & Studio plus a taster of some basic tuition. The Gallery displays a selection of my work & other local artists. You will have the opportunity to learn from my detailed verbal descriptions, many felt & stitch techniques. I will explain each piece of work you choose, from inception to completion.
My Studio is a large space with good light & glorious views. It is the part of the house where wool was spun & woven in the 1820’s. My stock of fibres & yarns are on show with selected ones available for you to purchase. There are usually several works in progress that can be the subject of discussion, thought & learning. You are welcome to ask unlimited questions & I am happy to help you with my lifetime of textile knowledge & felt making experience gained over more than 25 years.
