Summer Art Market

Summer Art Market

We are really excited to be holding another Art Market here at Globe Arts, to help raise money for another very worthy cause! PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY - Saturday 27th AUGUST, 11-3PM!

Our last fundraising event, the Ukraine Art Market , was a huge success, with a grand total of £3375 going to The Disasters Emergency Committee.

Let’s see if we can beat that this time, and donate an even larger amount to our chosen charities; Huddersfield Mission & our very own Howard Asher Garden Gallery.

Sellers will choose whether they would like to donate 50% or 100% of their sales to the chosen charities. Globe Arts will not be taking any commission on sales of items submitted for this event.

A run down of what’s happening in our building on this day;

Globe Gallery- the upstairs studio on Carr Lane side

Local Ceramic Artists’ Exhibition - will be exhibiting wares from ceramicists including (we will add to this list once the artists have confirmed)

Create Space- the downstairs studio on New Street side

Community Art - anyone and everyone is invited to submit artwork to be viewed or sold in this studio space. Clients from our classes are highly encouraged to submit at least 1 piece from their classes :)

Live Music - keep your eyes peeled to see our updates on singers/musicians..

Kabuki Theatre - The little tech room will become a mini theatre for the day! We will be projecting Kabuki clips from YouTube, be prepared to laugh and cry!!

Refreshments - we will have tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juice available for a cash donation.

Holly’s Cooking - 2 food stalls, 1 sweet, 1 savoury, perfect to nibble on as you browse the art!

Howard Asher Garden Gallery- the tiny patch at the point of our building where the road splits

Photo opportunity in the garden, with the fantastic colourful “King Head” sculpture, which is on loan to us from Mick Kirkby Geddes

The idea for this came from the first Advanced Life Drawing session of the June term, Jackie looked at the issue of Homelessness, after seeing 3 people on the streets of Huddersfield town centre that day.

It was a very moving class, and the drawings/paintings which emerged from the class brought lots of conversation and attention on social media, so we knew we wanted to try and help!

Huddersfield Mission; Based in Huddersfield town centre for over 100 years, this organisation helps those struggling with multiple and complex needs such as homelessness, mental health, addiction and more.
