Leave no Trace

Leave no Trace

An exhibition of paintings, drawings and text by Karen Pearson.

Karen sketches, takes photographs and has a developing practice of research and writing about the more remote landscapes shaped by human activity such as mining, farming or worship. She is interested in the landscapes of Dartmoor, Cornwall, and North Wales where people make moorland, coast or mountain a place to dwell.

The honouring, history, management, destruction, and the changing objectives that shape these places create landscapes that show a damaged and altered, but still stunning and dramatic, terrain that holds centuries of stories.

Leave no Trace will include paintings, drawings and text in an ongoing body of work and a continuing exploration of Karen’s reflections on landscape. Karen will continue to work on the project during the exhibition and will welcome discussion about it.

There will be an informal gallery talk with refreshments at 11 am on Saturday 28 May. Admission is free.

Karen graduated from Plymouth University in 2017 with an MA in Contemporary Art Practice and over the last ten years has participated in and curated a number of art shows, events and residencies in the UK and in Singapore.

Open 10 am - 5 pm, Tuesday - Saturday, and 10 am - 3 pm on Sunday.
