Doncaster Creates is a program to enable more people to create and for best creation to flourish proving arts led town re-generation as a model for positive transformation and happier people. Everyone Creates. Everyone Makes. Everyone Grows. Culture & creativity reflecting and enabling the community it grows out of.

A dynamic collaborative program beginning in 2020, will reveal and nurture the treasures of Doncaster, developing future ideas, talent, skills and audiences. World class, large scale immersive experiences will maximise participation to create a wow factor that people of all backgrounds will remember and act on.

Doncaster Creates, embraces a DIY approach, nurtures community partnerships, value driven, energising the future, acknowledging the renegade spirit of Doncaster in a time of climate crisis and action.

Focus (Doncaster Debates) – Growing Cultures

Doncaster Debates will be a series of talks and debates by provocative speakers, many from Doncaster itself, that with its citizens will challenge our understanding of climate crisis, culture, resilience and place.

As Doncaster searches for a model of arts led town re-generation how can culture & creativity reflect and enable best the community it grows out of ?

In tomorrow’s society how will we find purpose and happiness whatever our backgrounds, occupation or position in society ? What skills will we need to find creative solutions to accelerate innovation and empathy leading to sustainable and inclusive cultural economies?

What growing cultures means through debates such as:

Enough food to feed ourselves
Using less
Recovery, Bloody mindedness and resilience
A place on the globe
Art in the street
Arts, mental health and mobility
How to save ourselves

How can we re-discover a sense of pride and position in a world, itself precariously at risk through climate crisis and global inequality ?
