Taking inspiration from nature, learn how to design and create your own linocut and print your own scarf using your own linocut.
Itinerary:
• Introductions, take a look at some examples of lino cuts and ideas for designs, including some from the museum and grounds.
• Demonstration including how to use lino cutting tools safely, transferring images onto lino and how to carve lino.
• A chance to make your own linocut designing and carving out the image.
• Demonstration of printing onto fabric including techniques and repeat pattern options.
• A chance to print your own scarf.
Preparation: All materials will be provided but having some images and/or ideas about what you might want to carve will help.
The course is a great introduction to lino printing, a chance to be inspired by nature and to have an afternoon of creativity.
