Are you a kit drummer (13-18 years) who wants stand out fr0m the rest? Here's your chance. We have four fully funded places on our Future Leaders scheme for young kit players to explore vibrant, funky, complex Afro-Brazilian rhythms – beyond Bossa Nova. You will learn about how these traditions have influenced modern percussion, study contemporary fusion styles and how each of the rhythms has its unique personality.

This is an unbelievable opportunity for drum kit players aged 13 – 18 years who are ready to take their skills and understanding into exciting, little known areas of drumming and percussion. In addition you will learn how to forge a successful career in the music industry, how to raise money, how to plan for projects and your own professional development.

Each successful applicant will receive:
Four residential study weekends starting in January 2014, all travel, food and accommodation expenses are paid from door to door;
Mentoring and teaching from leading UK Afro-Brazilian percussionists;
Direct access to the music scene and music professionals;
A valuable Silver Arts Award qualification to recognise your expertise;
A total of £2,000 funded investment.
