Open Evenings at Dawlish Choral Society rehearsals
The Society are always on the look-out for new members, and anyone interested should come to our Open Evenings on Monday 12th and Monday 19th September at the Hedley Way Centre at 7.30, when we shall start preparing for a Christmas concert in December 2011. Those then wishing to join in our rehearsals and various social events will be very welcome. Anyone can join and there is no audition procedure, our Musical Director, Nicholas Gardiner, is amazingly encouraging and patient, and you can be assured of plenty of friendly help from present members.
Our last concert took place in the Spring this year, and consisted of Brahms' Song of Destiny and the choral version of his Songs of Love. These were quite tricky pieces, but we all enjoyed learning them and they proved very rewarding to sing when we had reached a cetrtain level of confidence.
